Rochel Leah (Margaretten) Fuchs lives in Jerusalem with her husband and 4 children. She has written for Mishpacha magazine and Aish.com, and is active in Jewish outreach.
On the other side of the door stood a bedraggled young woman holding a bag. She seemed ill at ease and appeared to tremble under her layers of clothes.
I know I probably shouldn’t use these cozy nighttime bonding sessions to drive home lessons to my kids, but this was just too good to pass up.
I was a young girl, maybe 10 years old, on my way back from the supermarket when it happened. I lost my grip on the heavy bags I was carrying and they fell to the floor, food tumbling all around me. As I scrambled to pick things up, my heart was pounding....
Okay, so maybe I was looking a little harried that day . . .
